A Definitive Ranking of EVERY Song from the FIRST Hannah Montana Album (MONTH OF MILEY)

*full reflections on each song will be added soon :)

Welcome Back to Disney!๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŽ‰I hope you enjoyed my last post on A Definitive Ranking of Every Last Song/Closing Number from DCOM Musicals! โ€˜Cause today, to close out the month of March with a bang, and to celebrate the 19th anniversary of the BEST and MOST ICONIC TV show in Disney Channel history, weโ€™re continuing down music memory lane and talking all about the FIRST Hannah Montana album.๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ’ฟ

This post is actually the FIRST of a new little blog post series Iโ€™m doing, where Iโ€™m going back to relisten to old albums from Disney Channel stars, while they were on Disney or still associated with Disney, per the music label they signed with, Hollywood Records (a record label of the Disney Music Group, that majority of the Disney Channel stars signed with to release their music at the time). I will be making a dedicated post for each of those albums, by different Disney Channel stars, with an official ranking of every song from each of those said albums. And I want to try and choose one Disney Channel starโ€™s album for each different month of the year. So, I of course, had to choose to talk about all of Miley Cyrusโ€™s/Hannah Montanaโ€™s albums FIRST, because Miley Cyrus is usually the first person I think of whenever I think of music and Disney. Plus, it just fits perfectly for the month of March.๐Ÿ’šMonth of Miley = Month of March๐Ÿ˜Š

To further explain how this is all going to work...Basically, for the next couple of years (because I don't really know how long this could take), starting now with this post, Iโ€™m looking at the Disney Channel shows that were in my Top 10 (as mentioned here), and Iโ€™m going in order that way, in how I ranked those shows, to pick out all the Disney Channel actors/actresses in each show that had a singing career and put out album(s)or EP's with Disney/Hollywood Records, and then Iโ€™m listening to those albums by those Disney Channel stars and ranking every song within each of the albums that they released. And each album will have itโ€™s own post. So, for example, Hannah Montana was my #1 favorite show for my Top 10 Disney Channel Shows ranking, and Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana had a singing career with Disney and released multiple albums under Hollywood Records. So, thatโ€™s why this post, and the next seven posts (because there were eight albums that Miley released with Hollywood Records) will be all about Miley Cyrus'/Hannah Montana's songs and albums. I also just chose to do it this way (starting with Miley's/Hannahโ€™s albums), because letโ€™s be real, Miley Cyrusโ€™s albums (as Hannah Montana and as herself) are the BEST albums and songs to come from Disney Channel period. At least, in my opinion, theyโ€™re definitely my MOST FAVORITE albums compared to any other Disney Channel star. Although, donโ€™t get me wrong, because all the other Disney Channel stars (besides Miley/Hannah) that Iโ€™ll be mentioning throughout this series of posts have great albums, too. I am just a little bit more biased towards Mileyโ€™s/Hannahโ€™s. Okay, Iโ€™m A LOT biased towards them. But youโ€™ll definitely still want to stay tuned for all the other posts I do talking about all the other albums and songs from Disney Channel stars that had a music career with Disney, because they are also GREAT.๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

But again, for this month of March and for the FIRST few posts of this series, itโ€™s all about Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana. Which again, is also why Iโ€™m calling this the Month of Miley, because all month long I re-listened to EVERY album and EVERY song from Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana, and ranked the songs on those albums from my least favorite to my most favorite. And I say โ€œfavoriteโ€ for both, because there really are no โ€œworstโ€ songs on any of these albums. Okay, there are a few, but Iโ€™ll mention the ones that are not so great when I get to them. But majority of the songs and albums from Miley Cyrusโ€™s Disney says are BANGERS, NON-SKIPPABLE, just AMAZING.๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’ฟ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽค

Oh, and with these albums from Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, and later with the other Disney Channel starsโ€™ albums that Iโ€™ll be posting about, I will be posting the albums in chronological order by the year that they were released from each person. Also, when I get to the last album from each person (Disney Channel singer), I will include my official ranking of the albums themselves at the end of that last album post. So that you also get to know which albums, as a whole, I liked least and most best when compared to each other. Hopefully, all that makes sense. If not, I think youโ€™ll understand and see more about how this whole thing is going to work after the next few album posts. So, what are we waiting for, letโ€™s get into A Definitive Ranking of Every Song from the FIRST Hannah Montana Album!๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ’ฟ

Wait, but before we get into the song ranking, I just want to give a little bit of a brief history about this album along with some of my memories associated with it, and then we can get into the song ranking.

Hannah Montana was the FIRST soundtrack album for the FIRST season of the hit Disney Channel series of the same name, Hannah Montana.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ“บ It was released on October 24, 2006 by Walt Disney Records. The show itself premiered on Disney Channel, 19 years ago today, on March 24, 2006.๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿคฏ After becoming an immediate commercial success with 5.4 million viewers, earning Disney Channel the highest ratings in its history, the production on its soundtrack and Miley Cyrusโ€™ debut studio album began the following month.๐Ÿ’ฟ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽคAccording to sources, the album was released in the fall of 2006 to capitalize on promotional efforts previously used for Hilary Duff, who had successfully transitioned from the title character of her TV series Lizzie McGuire into her own career in the music industry in the early 2000s.

As we already all know,  in the show (Hannah Montana), Miley Cyrus portrays the character Miley Stewart, a teenager who lives the secret double life as pop star Hannah Montana. Miley once stated that โ€œmost songs for the first season reflect the show, with Miley or Hannah making sure the other doesnโ€™t get caught or whatever,โ€ suggesting that the songs provided series producers with the opportunity to โ€œmake sure that everyone understood the characters.โ€ By comparison, Miley Cyrus described later songs used by the series as โ€œmore speaking out to the fans.โ€ Having said that, the album consists of thirteen song, and eight of the thirteen songs are performed by the series lead actress Miley Cyrus, and are credited to her character Hannah Montana. The groups EverLife, The Click Five, and B5 are also featured on the album along with recording artist Jesse McCartney who each contribute one song. Thereโ€™s also a special duet between Miley Cyrus and her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, thatโ€™s included as the final track of the album.

The soundtrack was promoted during the 2006-2007 Cheetah Girlsโ€™ Partyโ€™s Just Begun Tour, at which Miley Cyrus served as a โ€œrotatingโ€ opening act, which was her FIRST live performance of the songs with audiences actually knowing who she was at that point. This album was also further promoted during her own Best of Both Worlds Tour in 2007 and 2008. Although that tour primarily served as a promotional tool for the recently released Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus album, the songs โ€œJust Like Youโ€, โ€œPumpinโ€™ Up the Partyโ€, โ€œI Got Nerveโ€, and โ€œThe Best of Both Worldsโ€ from this album (the FIRST, original Hannah Montana album) were included in its setlist. The album is primarily pop-rock with additional influences from teen pop, country pop, and pop-punk musical styles. Lyrically, as I briefly mentioned before, the theme of the album revolves largely around the double life that Miley Cyrusโ€™ character lives on the TV show (and in real-life, you know that art imitating life imitating art sort of thing) โ€œgirl powerโ€, and teen romance.

Hannah Montana, the album, received generally favorable reviews from music critics at the time, who appreciated its overall production. In fact, it debuted at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 281,000 copies within the first week. Making it Miley Cyrusโ€™ first #1 album, the first TV soundtrack to reach the top position on the chart, and the fourth soundtrack from The Walt Disney Company to debut in the TOP 10 of the chart. Since then, the album has apparently been certified triple-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), for having exceeded shipments of three million copies in the U.S.. The soundtrack also charted moderately on international record charts, having reached the TOP 20 in Canada, Austria, Norway, and Spain. So, itโ€™s clear that this was a HIT album then, and it still is now. Again, at least in my opinion. It truly never gets old and has stood the test of time.๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’ฟ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽค

As Iโ€™ve mentioned many times before on this blog, Iโ€™ve always been a BIG Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus fan since I was nine-years-old and I saw that first commercial of the show that was premiering on Disney Channel in March 2006.๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ“บIn fact, I still have ALL the CDs of the series' soundtracks, and I still have ALL of Miley Cyrusโ€™ solo albums from her Disney days. So, I have such fond, special memories of hearing this FIRST, original album for the FIRST time as a kid, and all the other times and years I listened to it after that. Although, this FIRST album is one that my older sister (Ariel) actually got when we were kids. So, technically the CD I have of it was hers originally, but she gave all of her old CDs away to me a long time ago. So, Iโ€™m happy to say itโ€™s basically mine now. Though, of course, if she ever wanted to use it, I would give it back to her. But, yeah, it was this soundtrack and Miley Cyrusโ€™ 2009 EP (The Time Of Our Lives) that my older sister had gotten when we were kids that I didnโ€™t. Which, obviously both my sisters and I loved all things Hannah Montana as kids, but I feel like I more-so did. So, Iโ€™m still just kind of shocked that I never got those two Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana CDs when I was younger and my sister did.๐Ÿค”Oh, well. I have both of them now.๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’ฟ๐Ÿ’ฟ

But speaking of CDs, since those are apparently out these days anyways, thereโ€™s now many ways to listen to these Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana albums. So, I definitely utilized Spotify and YouTube for this re-listening party, along with the old CDs I have. And now I canโ€™t wait any longer because Iโ€™ve been waiting to create this post for SO LONG now and Iโ€™m SO HAPPY that I finally get to share my thoughts and opinions about these songs here with you all. So, what are we waiting for, letโ€™s PUMP UP THE PARTY, because itโ€™s THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, and I GOT NERVE, JUST LIKE YOU, THIS IS THE LIFE,...Okay, again, Iโ€™ll stop because Iโ€™m not good at trying to add all the titles of these songs in one sentence.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜ŠNow, for real this time, letโ€™s get into A Definitive Ranking of Every Song from the FIRST Hannah Montana Album!

Well, that concludes A Definitive Ranking of Every Song from the FIRST Hannah Montana Album!๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ’ฟ I really enjoyed getting to go back and listen to these songs and reminisce about the memories I have of them as a life-long fan. And I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did creating it.๐Ÿ˜Š It was actually quite harder than I thought it would be ranking the songs from this album, because they really are ALL SO GOOD. Well, especially just the Miley/Hannah ones. But the non-Miley/Hannah songs on this album arenโ€™t bad either. Again, I just have my favorites. This album is pretty much non-skippable and definitely worth a relisten at any time. So, I highly suggest anyone reading this to listen to this album again. โ€˜Cause I  definitely think this was a great way to start this series of posts Iโ€™m doing, and to celebrate 19 years since the FIRST Hannah Montana episode premiered on Disney Channel.๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŽ‰I still canโ€™t believe itโ€™s been that long.๐ŸคฏAnyways, I canโ€™t wait to talk about all of Miley Cyrusโ€™s other albums from her time with Disney,  and to share my thoughts and opinions about them here with you. So, make sure you hit that follow button so that you get notified when the next post goes up, and come Back to Disney soon for more NOSTALGIA and GREAT MUSIC!๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ’ฟโœŒ
