TOP 10 DISNEY CHANNEL THEME SONGS OF ALL TIME

Welcome Back to Disney! I hope you enjoyed my post last week where I created a list of All Of Disney Channel's Circle of Stars Videos, Ranked. This week I thought that I would list and rank the Top 10 Disney Channel Theme Songs Of All Time. Since I've already ranked the Top Ten Disney Channel Shows in the past, I thought why not go back and listen/watch all the theme songs from those Disney Channel shows, as well as all the other shows Disney Channel has put out over the years, and list and rank my favorites. As any Disney Channel fanatic would know, these theme songs helped define what these shows were and still are to this day. You probably, more than likely, always remember your favorite Disney Channel show because of their catchy, memorable, and iconic theme song. In other words, the theme songs were just as pivotal to our childhoods as the shows themselves. So, of course that is why I had to go back and rank my favorites. So, what are we waiting for, let's get into the Top 10 Disney Channel Theme Songs Of All Time

A brief note before we begin: when I am ranking these theme songs I am also ranking the whole opening/theme sequence. So, not just the song itself, but the whole thing together as a whole. Over Disney's past 30+ years, there have been endless hit theme songs, but which ones are the best? Read below to find out!

 (from least to most favorite)....

#10 "Everything Is Not What It Seems" performed by Selena Gomez from Wizards of Waverly Place

So honestly, I'm kind of surprised myself that I'm putting this theme song last on this list because this is one of my favorite Disney Channel shows (if you remember from my Top Ten Disney Channel Shows post), but after re-listening to all of the theme songs, this one was not the best. Although, don't get me wrong this is still a great theme song, as you can see because it made it onto this list. Just not the best out of all the ones on this list specifically. When I was younger I definitely would have put this song higher on this list, but I had to put it lower now, just because when compared to the other songs, this one's overall message and lyrics are nothing special. The beat isn't the greatest, either. Though having said that, I still love how fun it is to sing along to, as it is pretty catchy. The whole song and theme sequence does also fit really well with the whole magical aspect of the show. Selena Gomez, who plays Alex Russo, sings this theme song and does bring that mysterious, magical melody to life. So, the racing lyrics and otherworldly music are representative of the magical themes of the show and it's catchy, but that is just about it. Still one that makes me feel very nostalgic and is one of the most unforgettable.

#9 "Here I Am" performed by Loren Ellis and Drew Davis Band from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody

Ahhh, the memories that come flooding through my head when I hear this theme song. I love this theme song for many reasons. Not just because of the nostalgia that it brings but also because it is one of the catchiest and only pop punk style theme songs from a Disney Channel show. I mainly put this one above the previous theme song that I just mentioned because of the more upbeat vibes. This is also a theme song that I remember always singing along to when I would watch every episode of this show. The down-strumming guitar line and youthful melody just gets me every time. This is definitely a theme song I never get tired of hearing and one that I never skip when watching an episode of the show. This theme song also fits the show's overall theme of two trouble-making twin brothers living at the Tipton Hotel very well, with the opening theme sequence presenting just a handful of the brothers' crazy adventures that take place in the show. The lyrics and beat just make me happy and are so inviting. It definitely makes me want to check in and live the suite life right along with them.

#8 "Hang In There Baby" performed by Bridgit Mendler from Good Luck Charlie

This is another unforgettable theme song and one of my all time favorites. This one is definitely more slower and makes me feel more emotional than the previous theme song that I mentioned. It definitely gives you all those nostalgia feels while listening to it and watching it. As the opening theme sequence itself is like a trip down memory lane with pictures and clips of the Duncan family through the years, which makes me then think of my own childhood pictures and memories through the years. Another reason why I put this theme song above the previous one that I mentioned is because this song actually has a really good, positive, and sweet message. The message and meaning of the song itself is better than most. I really love the driving rhythm and changing melody of this fast-paced song. As it is the perfect representation of the fast-paced and chaotic lives of the Duncan family. The lyrics drop any form of poetry or metaphor and instead gets specific in telling the story of the day-to-day life of the Duncan family. As each episode of the show itself also focuses on the day-to-day memories that Teddy Duncan records to then one day share with her little sister Charlie. (Yes, I know. Awww, how cute is that? Very cute.) Therefore, this song is incredibly fitting and its tone is just as lighthearted and bouncy as the theme of the show itself. This theme song is just one of the cutest and most sweetest because Bridgit Mendler (who plays Teddy on the show) is singing the lyrics of this song about and to her little sister Charlie. The lyrics reveal that while life may get messy she (Charlie) should hang in there because she (Teddy) will help get her through all the ups and downs. A great, positive message that anyone can relate to or need to be reminded of. Just like the show itself, the lyrics also focus on making the most of the small moments, like "dad jokes", losing your left shoe, and "burnt toast" and the big moments in life. Both this show and its theme song are the very definition of feel-good content. This is also another theme song that I make sure not to ever skip when I watch an episode of the show.

#7 "We'll Figure It Out" performed by Angie Jaree from Lizzie McGuire

Okay, so I might or might not have just put this theme song above the others for the iconic red bouncy balls in this opening theme sequence. No, but for real, I did rank this one higher for that reason but also because I really do love the message and whole vibe of this song a little more than the previous one that I mentioned. Of course, it also brings me all of those nostalgic feels, as well. This is definitely the shortest theme song and I never liked that about it. Every time I watched this show I always thought it was way too short. Or I just loved it so much that I just wanted it to be a little bit longer. Having said that, I love the simplicity of the theme song opening sequence itself. It's definitely one of the most, if not the only opening theme sequence with not a lot going on, which I love. As it's just Lizzie surrounded by her friends and family having fun with a lot of eye-catching red bouncy balls. Oh, and of course, that one big, giant red bouncy ball at the end. I'm sure every kid wanted to be Lizzie in that moment when she jumped on that big red ball smiling and happy, just living her best life. I know I did. I love the overall message of the song, as well. As the title itself suggests, it's all about knowing that not everybody has it all figured out. Not even a picture-perfect looking family like the McGuire's. I mean who can't relate to that message? I know I can. In this show, Lizzie is just an ordinary girl from a normal family with a couple of good friends and that little voice in her head as she is trying to navigate the hardships of growing up. This theme song is the perfect representation of just that and a great reminder that no matter how things might look on the outside, no one is perfect, everybody is just trying to figure life out just like Lizzie. This is just another theme song that is truly unforgettable from my childhood, un-skippable, and more relatable which is ultimately why it had to go higher on this list than some of the others.

#6 "Can't Do It Without You" performed by Ross Lynch from Austin & Ally

This is another great and stand-out theme song from all the other Disney Channel TV show theme songs. Again, like most theme songs from the Disney Channel, this one is sung by one of the lead actors, Ross Lynch, who plays Austin Moon. This is another theme song that I can't help but sing along to every time I hear it. It's all about a musical duo trying to make it in the music industry as well as setting up the premise of the show and introducing the themes of friendship and teamwork. So, just like the show itself, the theme song serves as a little taste for the kind of fun, upbeat musical numbers you can expect to see on the show. I put this one higher than the previous song I mentioned on this list just because it's more upbeat and fun and even more catchy. The visuals and special effects are also more brighter and fun to look at and I also love the overall message of the song. This is just a very singable theme song about different people coming together making it as a team and being better for it. So, it really goes along well with the overall theme of the show itself. Again, this is another un-skippable theme song from the Disney Channel and one that never gets old. It also gives you all the early 2010s music vibes.

#5 "Call Me, Beep Me" performed by Christina Milian from Kim Possible

Okay, so I actually had this song last on this list originally, but then I changed it kind of last minute because when I went back to re-listen to all the songs I initially had in order, I felt this one was a lot better than I had remembered it being the first time I listened to it. I knew I always loved this song for a reason and I still love it even more now. I mean I just kept wanting to go back and replay it over and over after listening to all the other theme songs. It just stayed stuck in my head, which you know that means it's a great theme song. So, of course, I had to therefore rearrange some other songs and put this one higher on the list. This song is really fun to sing along to, especially the part when she sings, "You can't stop me 'cause I'm Kim Possible" (with that little emphasis on Kim Possible) and of course the ending when she goes, "So what's the sitch?", which I don't know why but I used to always think that she said "So what's the stitch?". I know, that doesn't make any sense, but when I watched the live action Kim Possible back in 2019 I just figured out then that she actually says sitch. Crazy?! Anyways, back to the song, I love the whole R&B inspired vibes of this song. Every time I hear those opening notes of that unforgettable beeping ringtone there is no doubt adventure is on the way. This theme song, unlike most of the others, is also actually not sung by any of the main characters from the show. It's sung by Christina Milian and let me tell you, she goes all out singing this rockin theme song. The heart pulsing beat with her impassioned vocals will get anyone listening and watching pumped up to join Kim, Ron, and little Rufus on their next mission to save the world. This exciting and ridiculously, crazy-catchy song is not only an amazing theme song but it's also just as awesome as a standalone song, which when a theme song can stand on it's own like that you know it's a banger. Again, it's impossible not to hear this song and say Kim's most infamous words, "So what's the sitch?". This show aired during what was the dawn of the teenage cellphone-defined era and so this theme song is very much fitting with that. The way it interplays Kim Possible's Kimmunicator throughout.

#4 "Top Of The World" performed by Mitchel Musso from Pair of Kings

I not only loved this show as a tween/teen but this theme song is also one of my all time favorites, as you can tell from where I placed it on this list. This is definitely the most underrated Disney Channel show and theme song, in my opinion. But, maybe that's just because it was only played on Disney XD and not the main channel with all the other more popular hit Disney Channel shows. But, let me tell you this song and show should have been played on the actual Disney Channel because it is a huge hit in my eyes. While making this list I literally kept going back just to hear this song again and again and again, until I had to stop procrastinating. This song might not have the best message when compared to all the other theme songs I've mentioned, but the beat alone makes up for that 100x over. Don't get me wrong though, it's not that this theme song has a bad message, it just doesn't have one with really any depth or heartfelt, relatable meaning. As it's all about, as the title suggests, just being on top of the world. However, it still goes along really well with the overall theme of the show. I just have no other words for how much I love this theme song. It's very catchy and a must song to sing along to. I know I sing it every time I watch this show (even if it's just me singing it in my head). This song is just a banger, literally because it gets my head banging every time I hear it. It's just another theme song that I never get tired of hearing, never want to skip, and a main reason why I even watched the show. Also, like with some other songs I mentioned before, this theme song can also stand on its own away from the show and still be amazing and just as fun to listen to, which is also what makes it so special and one of the greatest theme songs in Disney Channel history. As the kids like to say, this song is just lit, fire, you get the gist 🔥.

#3 "Take On The World" performed by Sabrina Carpenter & Rowan Blanchard from Girl Meets World

Okay, so this one and the next song that I'm going to talk about were both extremely hard to decide which one was better. They both have good, positive messages and great beats. Although, one song is more slower and more like a ballad while the other is more fast-paced and a little more upbeat and less emotional. Take On The World, the less upbeat song that I'm talking about now, had to go third on this list just because when deciding which one was better I had to choose which one I would rather play over and over or day-to-day because they also both are great standalone songs. But this one could not beat the next one I will talk about just for that reason alone. But, this theme song is still a very, very close second. First of all, my favorite rendition of this theme song sequence is when they recreated the most iconic theme sequence from Boy Meets World. Every time that I listen to this song I definitely get a little emotional just because of nostalgic reasons and it can definitely make you feel all the feels, which is why I love it. I also love that this song was sung by the two main girl characters from the series, Sabrina Carpenter (who plays Maya) and Rowan Blanchard (who plays Riley). This theme song greatly expresses the show's themes of family, friendship, and adventure. This song, like the show, appeals to young viewers and their adolescent anticipation of growing up as well as to older fans for the nostalgia of the original show. Especially, like I mentioned before, with the accompanying visuals introduced in Season 3 paying homage to the Boy Meets World theme song/sequence. This is another very catchy theme song that can stand alone and still be just as great without all the visuals to look at. It's also, of course, fun to sing along to, as well. I also love the whole message of the song as it's about two friends being there for one another. To take on the world together no matter the changes or challenges that life will throw at them. This awesome theme song definitely helped swing the odds that were stacked against them, when this show was first going to air after the highly beloved, TV classic that was and still is Boy Meets World. In other words, the theme song alone helped me get excited for this show and love this show even more.

#2 "Shake It Up" performed by Selena Gomez from Shake It Up

This is one of my most favorite theme songs in Disney Channel history because it has everything that a good theme song should have. It has a great message, awesome, fun and bright visuals, a great beat, and it's very catchy and fun to sing along to. Like I mentioned before, it was extremely hard deciding whether to put this song before or after the previous song that I mentioned. But, ultimately I decided to put it second best because this one is more upbeat and something that I would play day-to-day to sing and dance along to. The whole beat and lyrics of this song are also very fitting to the overall dance theme of the show. As every time I hear this song I just want to get up and start dancing, which is also what the show makes me want to do every time that I watch it. Now that I'm thinking about it, this is actually the only Disney Channel theme song that is truly dance worthy, which makes it unique in that way. I just love the whole positive energy and good vibes that this song and theme sequence puts out. I also love, away from the show, this song can also stand alone on its own and still be just as great and fun to listen to. It's also cool and fun to hear Selena Gomez (who sang "Everything Is Not What It Seems") do the vocals for this theme song. This is definitely the better theme song that she sings, in my opinion. This theme song also just brings back so many fond memories of watching this show growing up and I'll forever love it for that reason. I think there's actually a video of me somewhere dancing to this song. I mean I loved dancing to all the Shake It Up songs, as I did have both of the CDs. I was obsessed. Lol. No, but for real, once you hear this song it will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day, night, week, or even month.

#1 "Best Of Both Worlds" performed by Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) from Hannah Montana

I know, I know. I'm probably very basic, cliche, and predictable for putting this as my #1 favorite Disney Channel theme song. But I can't help it. It is the BEST. This is always the theme song that comes to my mind first when I think of Disney Channel theme songs. I mean how could it not? I can't imagine a Disney Channel song list without a Hannah Montana song. I had this as #1 on my list even before going back to actually re-listen to all the theme songs, and I never changed my mind once about where it deserved to be on this list. It's THE theme song of ALL theme songs, in my opinion of course. This theme song greatly prepares the audience for what to expect from the show in the best way possible. In other words, with this dynamic theme song you get the best of both Hannah Montana and Miley Stewart. This song greatly captures the whole theme of the show which is about Miley Stewart being just a normal girl who also happens to live a secret life as a pop star and just as the title suggests, she struggles with the two conflicting worlds of Miley and Hannah but she's making the best of it anyway that she can. No other Disney Channel theme song is as iconic as this one. It's three minutes of pure pop adrenaline, the moment that those drums kick in. This song is the catchiest and most fun to sing along to, as well as a great standalone song. They also changed up the theme song in Season 3 for a more punchier and rockier-style vibe, which is also great, but I do and will always prefer the original theme song and sequence from Seasons 1 and 2. I also love how this song still holds up today as much as it did the first time I ever heard it and watched it. Obviously, this is another un-skippable, masterpiece of a song. Like I also said before in my Top 3 Songs From Every Hannah Montana Album post, this song did for Hannah Montana what "Dreams Are Made Of" did for the Lizzie McGuire movie. It will forever be my favorite and the most iconic Disney Channel theme song for all those reasons that I mentioned above.

Well, that concludes my list of the Top 10 Disney Channel Theme Songs Of All Time. I loved getting to go back to listen and watch all of these theme songs/sequences and even the ones that didn't make it onto this list. It was pretty difficult trying to figure out which ones I feel ranked the least and most best. However, I feel that all ones I chose truly deserve to be on this top ten list because I couldn't imagine this list without them and I do feel that these are the ones that really define what Disney Channel theme songs were and still are to me.  Did your favorite make the list? If not, let me know your favorite(s) in the comment section below and come Back to Disney next week for more!

Also, I just wanted to list a few theme songs worth shouting out that were very close to also making it onto this list:
