Welcome Back to Disney! I hope you enjoyed my post last week on the Top Ten Disney Channel Original Movies. This week I thought I would list and discuss my Top 12 Hannah Montana episodes. As you probably already know from my previous posts, Hannah Montana was my favorite Disney Channel show growing up. It basically defined Disney Channel for me. I mean I still remember when I saw one of the first previews for the "new series Hannah Montana" (as said in the classic Disney Channel commercial guy voice) on Disney Channel having no clue what it was but I thought it was so cool that she was a singer and a "normal girl". It was unlike any other Disney Channel show they had at the time.
Since I already discussed in a previous blog post why I love the show so much and why it is the #1 Disney Channel show, in my opinion, I thought this week I would let you guys know which episodes specifically are my favorite from the show and why. I listed my top 3 favorite episodes for each of the four seasons of Hannah Montana. I chose to pick just three episodes from each season because I wanted to include every season and what three episodes that I feel define each season for me. Cause if not I feel like all of my favorite episodes would have come straight from season 1 because that is my favorite season out of all the four seasons. But, again I wanted to include some episodes from all four seasons in some way because I really do like all four seasons. So, let's get into the list of the Top 12 Hannah Montana Episodes.
Season 1:
1. Lily, Do You Want to Know A Secret - This is a very special and favorite episode to me because it is the first episode of Hannah Montana ever. It is what started it all. If you have never seen Hannah Montana and want to, well this is the episode that I recommend you watch first. This is the episode where we first get introduced to the amazing theme song, the characters, the music, the setting, and the infamous Hannah Montana closet. This episode, as with all pilot episodes, was the make it or break it episode for what the rest of the season (and seasons to be) would be like and whether I was interested to watch it again (which I was). This episode makes you want more and more episodes after you watch it. I remember acting out certain scenes from this episode many times as a kid with my younger sister. This episode also premiered the same month of my birthday so that's kind of cool, too. This episode has everything from comedy, great music, friendships, relationships, fashion, drama, sweet moments, sad moments, as well as good lessons. This is always one of the first episodes that I think of when I think of Hannah Montana. So, that's why this is my first favorite episode of season 1 of Hannah Montana.

2. You're So Vain, You Probably Think This Zit Is About You - This is my second favorite episode from season 1 of Hannah Montana because it's very relatable to me and the overall message is great for all. This is another episode I automatically think of when someone says, "Hannah Montana". This episode is all about telling viewers that looks don't matter and it's about what's on the inside that counts. That even the most "famous" person gets zits or has other insecurities and that's okay. That you are not alone because everyone has insecurities. I could really relate to the character Lily in this episode because she needed eye glasses but didn't want to wear them because she hated them because she felt that they made her look ugly. Something I was going through as a teen, as well. Even today. So, this episode is really great for kids/teens or anybody to watch and learn from when they are feeling insecure about the same things.

3. She's A Super Sneak - This episode is my third favorite episode from season 1 of Hannah Montana because of the setting it takes place at, the music, the comedy, and the overall message. First of all, I really like the song that is played when the main character Miley and her brother Jackson are studying, "Pumpin' Up the Party". Then the overall storyline is also really relatable to me, as well. When Miley sees her dad on a date at the movies with another woman that is not her mom (after her mom's passing) and she feels like her dad is replacing her mom, plus he also lied to her and said he was going to a business meeting. I have definitely felt what she did in this episode at one point in my life. She (Miley) also sings a snippet of a song she wrote called "I Miss You" and then there is a sweet daddy-daughter moment at the end, which is my favorite part of the episode. I have always loved that song. It is the go-to song to sing or listen to when you lose someone or something (like a pet) you love.

Season 2:
1. I Want You To Want Me.... to Go to Florida - This is my favorite episode of the second season because of the storyline, the message, the music, the little bit of drama, and the guest stars. This episode is also one that always stands out to me when I think of Hannah Montana. I really like the dad and daughter bond in this episode, as well. I can also relate to the argument she has with her dad in this episode as I’m sure many kids/teens can when you have desperately wanted something or to go somewhere but your parent(s) don’t want you to go or don't want to give you money for that something. Many times, for good reason. That makes it relatable, as many kids get in arguments like that with their parent(s). It is just a really sweet episode that is unique from all the other Hannah Montana episodes in that it mostly takes place on an airplane. The song “Ready, Set, Don’t Go” that Miley’s dad sings to her made this episode. It is my favorite part of the whole episode. The song makes you really emotional, or at least it does for me, and the real-life flashbacks of the character Miley that plays throughout the song is really cool and fun to watch. I love a good flashback. I also like when familiar characters from other Disney Channel shows guest star and that is what this episode has with Selena Gomez from Wizards of Waverly Place appearing on the episode. She was another one of my favorite Disney Channel stars to watch so it is always fun to see her on this episode.

2. I Am Hannah, Hear Me Croak - This is my second favorite episode from season 2 because it is another stand out episode. It is also an episode I've watched many, many times muck like the previous episodes that I've mentioned before. I love the premise of this episode, as well. It's when Miley (or Hannah) sings too many encores at one of her concerts therefore straining her voice. Eventually, a week later after another concert, she loses her voice completely. She is then told by a doctor that she will have to undergo a special surgery in order to preserve her career as Hannah Montana. This is a great episode because it is really funny and it has a good message. You also get to see her mom for the first time in this episode. Miley learns that her friends will be with her no matter what, since they were her friends long before they knew she was Hannah Montana. This is a great lesson for anybody that feels like they might lose family or friends once they no longer have the success they thought was the only reason why their friends befriended them or reason their family loved them in the first place. However, true friends and family are always by your side forever, no matter what. The song that she sings in this episode is also one of my all time favorite Hannah Montana songs, which is "Life's What You Make It". She also sings a little bit of the song "You and Me Together", which I also love. So, I really like those parts of the episode as well.

3. When You Wish You Were The Star - This is my third favorite episode of season 2 because of the storyline, the music, the message, the fashion, the comedy, and um hello...Jesse McCartney. This is another stand out episode in the Hannah Montana series. I even still remember the commercials leading up to the premiere of this episode. I really like the song Hannah sings at the beginning of this episode, "Old Blue Jeans". With the infamous blue jean jacket and skirt on top of her denim jeans. The whole song and outfit were everything to me as a kid. I was also a huge fan of Jesse McCartney back in the day, so him making a guest appearance in this episode makes it even better and as Hannah Montana's boyfriend..I mean c'mon. This is a very unique episode in that it's mostly Miley as Hannah Montana throughout the whole episode because she wishes that she could just be Hannah Montana all the time. When she ends up not wanting that in the end, it teaches viewers a great lesson that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. We can all relate to this at one point or another. When you've wished that you could have something but when you actually get it it turns out not to be what you hoped it would be, therefore you realize you actually don't want it. Kind of like how I felt watching this episode, as I always wondered what the series would be like with just the character Hannah Montana but when watching this episode I miss seeing both characters. You need to have the two characters on the show to balance things out. It's all part of what makes it great and unique from other shows. This episode was sad at parts, too, but also funny. Any episode that can make me laugh is at the top of my list.

Season 3:
1. He Could Be the One (1 hour special) - This is my first favorite episode of season 3 because of the love interests, the comedy, the music, the storyline, and the message. Again, another big stand out and memorable episode from the series. I also still remember the commercials leading up to this episode like it was yesterday. I remember coming home from vacation so excited to finally watch the episode (that I had recorded so I didn't miss it). This is listed as a two-part episode on Disney+, but I had to just combine it as one full one hour episode because the whole thing is just too good to pick one. Plus, I don't actually remember if it aired as two separate episodes or one full hour episode. I assume the latter. But anyways this episode has not only one love interest for Miley but two, Jake and Jesse. In which she has to choose between the two guys on which one she wants to date. (Jesse was my choice) There are also a lot of funny jokes in this episode ("Nachyo cheese"). As well as the funny background commentary singing from Jackson and Rico throughout the episode. The music in this episode is great, as well. I mean "He Could Be the One"...a bop and "Don't Wanna Be Torn" makes you feel all the feels. The music in this really did it for me. Oh..and hello...Jesse. But besides that, the overall message about listening to your heart and not lying, is great too. This episode also really keeps you on your toes as you wander which guy Miley is going to pick. So, it's an exciting episode to watch. I still get excited to watch it.

2. Promma Mia - This is my second favorite episode from season 3 mostly because of the message and the song. I think the message in this episode is super important and it still holds true today. It's all about not judging a book by its cover and when you commit to something you must keep that commitment. Don't ditch it for "bigger or better" things like singing with another pop singer (yeah that one). In other words, keep your promises and treat others the way you would want to be treated. The song in this episode "I Wanna Know You" is also a favorite of mine. There is not much to this episode compared to the others, but it is simple and the message is great which is why I think it's important and a very good episode.

3. Welcome to the Bungle - This is my third favorite episode of season 3 because it is super funny, and the message is great for everyone to know and learn. The whole premise is about when Miley goes on a talk show as Hannah and says she hates carrots in which everything that she (Hannah) says her fans follow. She keeps returning to the show on the episode to explain herself but makes it worse every time. In the end she realizes that she can't try to please everyone, especially by lying, so she decides to tell the truth being that she really doesn't like carrots and doesn't read books a lot either. The whole lesson being that your likes and dislikes should be based on what you think and not what others think and of course the lesson of always tell the truth. In this episode, Hannah also sings "Supergirl" which is another og bop and she even reinvents it to be "Super Carrot" which just makes this episode all the more funny. There are also a few familiar guest stars from other Disney Channel shows, such as China Anne McClain and Sierra McCormick from A.N.T Farm and Leigh-Allyn Baker from Good Luck Charlie.

Season 4:
1. Wherever I Go - Although this is the saddest episode because it is the very last episode of the whole series, it is my favorite episode of season 4. I was sad that it ended but I wasn't mad that it ended. I think they closed everything off good with this episode. This episode makes you laugh, cry, and everything in between. You also get a duet with the two main best friends, Miley and Lily, singing a great song "Wherever I Go". The flashback pictures and previous-episode snippets with the final song "I'll Always Remember You" make this the best last episode ever on Disney Channel. When Miley decides to end up skipping making a movie with Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise to go to college with her best friend, you get to see the true meaning of friendship and learn a great lesson being that sometimes you only get one chance in life to do certain things (especially with your best friend) so you give up another thing you love for that chance at friendship. You also get all the characters to return in this episode which is always fun to see a family reunion. Another funny part of this episode is when Miley says the last and longest say what line ever, "Oversized sweatshirt buying Daddy who just said three-time Academy Award winning, director, producer of Jaws, Jurassic Park, E.T., Men in Black 1 and 2 wants me to star in his next big blockbuster opposite of Mission Impossible hunky hunk Tom Cruise say what?" (Don't pretend like you didn't try and practice saying this line numerous times until you got it down without looking, because I know I did.)

2. I'll Always Remember You - This is my second favorite episode of season 4 because it is when Miley finally tells the world her long-kept secret that she is Hannah Montana. I remember waiting for this episode forever, because I just wanted her to reveal her secret to the world already. It's kind of a sad episode though, because she is losing her best friend (Lily) and boyfriend (Jesse) and what seems to be everything until she finally reveals her secret to make things better. We also see her Dad and Lily take off their disguises, as well. This episode takes you down an emotional roller-coaster when Miley goes through Hannah's closet looking back at all of her iconic outfits through the years and remembering the great times she has had as Hannah Montana. The song, "I'll Always Remember You" also makes you more emotional as it plays in the background during the scene. This episode also kind of gives you a sigh of relief for her because she no longer has to tell a lie or hide her secret from the world anymore. This episode is also great because we get to hear not one but three great songs play throughout it: "Barefoot Cinderella", "Wherever I Go", and "I'll Always Remember You". The messaging and lesson you learn from Miley in this episode is that things don't last forever. People change and things change, but it's important to always remember where you came from. Or at least that's what I get from the episode when watching it. Overall, this is a more emotional episode, funny at times, but a very iconic episode of the series.

3. Can You See the Real Me? - This is my third favorite episode of season 4 because of the message and simpleness of it. This episode comes after the episode when Miley tells the world her secret. This episode is simple, thought-provoking, and calming in that there is not much going on in it. As Miley just discusses her double life and relives some of her most memorable moments along with viewers with flashbacks of past episodes. This is also a very unique and different kind of episode for that reason and because she (Miley) is being more real, open, and honest in this episode and not acting like her character but more of the real-life Miley as she talks about what being Hannah Montana has been like for the past four years of her life. Also, it is different in that it only has one character (Miley) and the interviewer asking her questions throughout the whole episode. So, there is no other characters on it but those two. Miley also mentions something in this episode along the lines of "what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger", which is a great message and lesson to learn.

Well, that concludes my list of the Top 12 Hannah Montana Episodes. I had a little bit more trouble than I thought I would trying to decide my favorites for each season. Especially when it came to the first and second seasons, because there are too many good ones. But, I think I finally got it down right. I'm curious to know if these are also your favorites, as well. Let me know in the comments below and come Back to Disney next week for more!
