A Definitive Ranking of EVERY Song from the Wizards of Waverly Place Soundtrack

*Full reflections of each song coming later!:)

Welcome Back to Disney!πŸ‘‹πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ‰I hope you enjoyed my last post on the Top 12 BEST Episodes from Even Stevens, and that you’re ready for some more NOSTALGIC FUN down music memory lane.πŸŽΆπŸ’Ώ ‘Cause today, and for the next five days, I’m going back to the MAGICAL days of Disney Channel and talking all about Selena Gomez’s Disney discography.πŸ€πŸ’™πŸ’œ

As I mentioned in my FIRST post of this little series of album posts I’m doing, this series of blog posts is all about going back and relistening to old albums/soundtracks from Disney Channel stars while they were on Disney or still associated with Disney, per the music label they signed with Hollywood Records. Or, in this case Walt Disney Records. In other words, I plan on making individual, dedicated posts for each album/soundtrack by mostly every Disney Channel star who put out music through those labels. And for each dedicated album/soundtrack post I provide an official ranking of every song from said album/soundtrack.

Of course, the FIRST Disney Channel star’s albums/soundtracks I posted about in March of this year was Miley Cyrus’, because hers are the MOST ICONIC and NOSTALGIC.πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ©·πŸ€πŸ€ŽπŸ’—πŸ©ΆπŸ–€But now, as I mentioned at the end of my post on A Definitive Ranking of Every Song from the Hannah Montana Forever Soundtrack, I said that the next artist’s Disney discography that I’d be talking about might just be a little more MAGICAL. Of course, that meant none other than Selena Gomez. And this soundtrack I’m talking about today featuring Selena Gomez is definitely the MOST MAGICAL because it’s from her hit Disney Channel TV series Wizards of Waverly Place, and literally majority of the songs on this soundtrack have the word ‘magic’ in their title. So it really can’t get any more magical than this. Okay, now I feel like I've already said (typed) the word 'magic' too much, but you'll probably be hearing/seeing it a lot more throughout this post.😊😜πŸͺ„

For me, Selena Gomez’s Disney discography is a very, VERY close second to Miley’s, because they are just as NOSTALGIC and TRULY GREAT. Selena's Disney albums/soundtracks are definitely ones that I grew up with, and a lot of the songs from them helped shape me and influence me in the BEST ways. And it all started with this soundtrack, Wizards of Waverly Place.πŸŽΆπŸ’ΏπŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ€

Speaking of Selena Gomez’s albums impacting me in all the BEST ways, I guess this is the right time to talk about my history with this soundtrack. How I came to know and love it. So, obviously I was a fan of the show Wizards of Waverly Place growing up. As that specific era of Disney Channel was the era in which I grew up. So, I watched the show a lot as a kid/tween/teen whenever it was playing on Disney Channel and I was a fan. Again, not as big of a fan as I was of Hannah Montana, but still a fan. So much so that I guess I had the CD of the soundtrack on my Christmas list that year in 2009, because I was actually gifted the CD of this soundtrack for Christmas that year. In which I actually do have a video of me opening it on Christmas morning.πŸŽ„πŸŽπŸŽΆπŸ’ΏSo, that's one fond, special memory I have when it comes to this soundtrack. I also just remember as a tween (because I was 12 years old at the time that this soundtrack came out) listening to my CD of this soundtrack in my radio in my room. So, just little memories, stuff like that.πŸ€πŸ’™πŸ’œ

Even as a teenager, and later in my early twenties, I would still occasionally listen to the same CD of this soundtrack that I got when I was 12, just for fun, nostalgic purposes.😊In fact, the last time I remember listening to this whole soundtrack, or CD, was just a few years ago when I was 25. I put the same old CD in my old radio and listened to it for fun. But it’s been a little while even since then, so I was still very curious and excited to relisten to this whole soundtrack from beginning to end. Not only did I want to cover Selena Gomez’s Disney discography second after Miley’s because hers are also one of the FIRST that comes to my mind whenever I think of music to come from Disney Channel artists, and ICONIC music to come from the channel, but I also just thought that posting this now fit perfectly and would be a GREAT way to celebrate Selena Gomez’s birthday that’s coming up, too.πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆπŸ₯³But before we get into my official ranking of each song from this album I just want to give a brief history about this soundtrack.

As briefly mentioned before, Wizards of Waverly Place is the soundtrack album from the Disney Channel Original Series of the same name.πŸ“ΊπŸͺ„Most of the songs on this soundtrack are in the pop, pop-rock genre. The soundtrack was released on August 4, 2009 under Walt Disney Records on digital and as a physical and enhanced CD.πŸ’ΏπŸŽΆThe soundtrack includes songs from and inspired by not only the hit Disney Channel TV series but also from Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie

"Magic” by Selena Gomez served as the promotional single for the soundtrack, and was released on July 21, 2009 as part of the Radio Disney iTunes Pass. On July 24, 2009, “Magic” premiered on Radio Disney and the ICONIC and TRULY UNFORGETTABLE music video was shown on Disney Channel. The song’s music video has Selena Gomez singing into a microphone with a bright and vibrant background, while it also includes clips from the Wizards of Waverly Place movie.πŸŽΆπŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ€πŸͺ„With 42,000 downloads, “Magic” debuted at #61 on the Billboard Hot 100.πŸ‘The album  debuted at #24 on the Billboard 200 having sold 18,000 units in its first week.πŸ‘It also debuted at #1 on the UK Soundtrack Albums, at #3 on the U.S. Kid Albums, at #4 on the U.S. Top Soundtracks, at #27 on the Norway Albums Top 40, and at #32 on the Mexican Albums Top 100.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ And that’s about all the facts I could collect about this soundtrack. But as I’ve mentioned many times before when talking about Miley’s Disney discography, the numbers and all that chart stuff really means nothing to me, but they were wins for Selena and therefore something I thought was still worth mentioning here. But those statistics did not make me enjoy this soundtrack any more or any less than I did before doing this relisten, nor did they affect my thoughts and opinions about the soundtrack as a kid/tween/teen. I’ve always just loved this soundtrack for what it is and that’s why I can’t wait any longer to talk about the songs from it. So, what are we waiting for? Do you believe in magic? If so, don’t disappear. Come with me for a little while on a magic carpet ride, because everything is not what it seems…Okay, yeah, I don’t know where I’m going with this.🀣Again, I tried.😊For real though, let’s get into A Definitive Ranking of Every Song from the Wizards of Waverly Place Soundtrack!πŸŽΆπŸ’ΏπŸ€πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸͺ„

Well, that concludes A Definitive Ranking of Every Song from the Wizards of Waverly Place Soundtrack!πŸŽ‰πŸŽΆπŸ’Ώ I really enjoyed getting to go back and listen to these songs and reminisce about the memories I have of them. And I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did creating it and that it also brought back some FUN, NOSTALGIC memories for you, too.😊It was actually quite harder than I thought it would be ranking the songs from this soundtrack, because they are all pretty similar in terms of the songs all being about MAGIC, and it’s not just one person singing all the songs but a mix of artists. I was even kind of surprised and a little sad to have to rank a couple of the songs that aren’t sung by Selena on this soundtrack above the songs sung by Selena. But I had to be honest and that’s what can be hard and a downside about compilation albums like this one. But I feel good about where I ranked these songs. For now, at least.πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘I mean, my TOP 4 have always been my TOP 4 favorites. Just in the past, I maybe would have ranked them a bit differently than I did today. But, again, I stand by my current ranking of these songs.

Having said that, I highly suggest anyone reading this, who hasn’t ever listened to this soundtrack, and who’s a fan of Selena Gomez, to take a listen to all the songs from this soundtrack. 'Cause they are FUN, definitely MAGICAL, and NOSTAGLIC.πŸŽΆπŸ’ΏEven if every song isn’t great. Which again, if I’m being honest, not every song on this soundtrack is great or even good, but it’s still fun and very nostalgic to listen to if you’re a true Selena Gomez and OG Disney Channel fan. πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ€And even the not-so-great songs are still worth listening to at least once. Which I guess if you went through this whole post you already did listen to every song once, but listen to them again, and after you do feel free to comment down below what your favorite song from the Wizards of Waverly Place soundtrack is.

Anyways, I can’t wait to talk about all of Selena Gomez’s other albums from her time with Disney, and to share my thoughts and opinions about them here with you just like I did with this one. So, make sure you hit that follow button so that you get notified when my next post goes up, and come Back to Disney soon for more NOSTALGIA, GREAT MUSIC, and some MAGIC!πŸ‘‹πŸ€πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸŽ‰πŸŽΆπŸ’Ώ✌
